Band of Brothers
Sitting down today watching Band of Brothers with my wife, its an unbelievable series and after watching what America accomplished its no wonder they called this the “Greatest Generation”. The cinematography is beautifully done, with a color reducing filter its seems grittier and has a raw, chaotic feeling during the combat scenes. What really hits you as you watch this is the commentary from the actual soldiers that intros each episode, it is very poignant and emotional. Then you realize what we are watching is what they lived through, there is no time for thinking or reflection just reaction. I feel truly thankful for the men who laid the foundation for us and this world, and we should honor them by standing up for what they stood up for and fought for…. essentially I am feeling especially patriotic today.
Life’s [small] Things…
I [recently] read a book which took an interesting outlook on how to live life. It was called “The ways of a Peaceful Warrior”, now it wasnt your typical self-help kinda book normally I wouldn’t of made it through one chapter of the same old run of the mill type books. This one I must admit was different, it was not based on christianity but on a personal experience. I feel like it has change my perspective of the small things in life. Below is a list I made from the book that may seem boring to most but these simple ideas really inspired and challenged me to enjoy what we have… and how we conduct ourselves. Whiskey Lullaby
This is a video I edited together to fit to a song I wrote, it was my first attempt at video editing but it seemed pretty natural since it was along the same lines as producing a beat. I have also rededicated myself to the craft of making good quality music. I’m trying to extend and push out of my comfort zone, I want to be as honest and raw as possible. In the coming months you will see themes of life, love, betrayal and genuine struggles in my relationship with God. I hope that through this site and through this music, you will be touched and feel what I felt or experienced when I wrote it. God Bless scott-allen
